An Army Surgeon.

An army surgeon needs to operate on 3 different soldiers who got hit during reconnaissance. The problem is that the supply truck hasn't restocked the field hospital and surgical gloves are just about gone.

She cannot come in contact with the blood of any soldier, and there is to be no blood contact between soldiers.

How can the surgeon operate on three different people when she has only 2 pairs of gloves?

Answer:

  1. Put both pairs of gloves on at the same time.
  2. Operate on Soldier1.
  3. Remove the outer pair of gloves so that they come off inside out and place them on a sterile tray.
  4. Operate on soldier2.
  5. Put the gloves from the tray back on over the existing gloves with the soiled sides of each pair touching on the inside.
  6. Operate on soldier3.
  7. Remove both pairs of gloves at the same time and dispose of them appropriately.
